CONNECTING WA COASTAL & MARINE STEWARDS
In WA, our coastline stretches for over 10,000km from the north to the south of the state, and 80% of our population lives near the ocean in a coastal community1. In 2019, 15 Perth metro and 40 regional coastal locations were identified as erosion ‘hotspots’ and are expected to impact our communities within 25 years2.
Increasing the impact of coastal and marine conservation today is critical for our future.
In 2025, WACMN is actively campaigning for long-term and integrated stewardship of WA’s coastal and marine environments. WACMN’s network includes a diverse range of stakeholders who bring a breadth of skills, knowledge and passion for caring about WA’s sea waters and shorelines. We believe that campaigning together as a community of WA stewards we can make a greater impact.
