The 2024 Western Australian Beach Clean-up marked a significant milestone, celebrating 20 years of community action to protect our coastline! As Tangaroa Blue Foundation’s longest-running community-driven initiative, this year’s event saw record-breaking participation and incredible collective impact.

More than 2,000 volunteers from 60 organisations, schools, and community groups dedicated 3,855 hours to remove over 7.2 tonnes of marine debris from nearly 158 km of WA’s coastline.

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and contributed their time and effort. Your data gives us a clearer picture of marine debris hotspots and sources, helping inform future clean-ups, source reduction initiatives, and conservation strategies. You can now explore the results from your region and see the collective impact your efforts have made on protecting Western Australia’s stunning marine environment.

Get involved for WABCU 2025!

The 2025 WA Beach Clean-up is taking place between the 17th and 20th October and we need your help to make it the biggest yet! We want to clean-up as much of the WA coastline as possible, and to do this we need volunteers to register their clean-up sites. Registration will open at the start of July; sign up for the latest updates.
