The City of Bunbury’s Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP), developed as part of the Capel to Leschenault CHRMAP, was adopted by Bunbury Council on 23 April 2024.
The City since released a Summary Report of the Bunbury CHRMAP, to provide the community with a much more accessible and easy-to-read version of the CHRMAP, including an overview of the CHRMAP process and content, frequently asked questions and infographics. Both the full CHRMAP and Summary Report can be found on the City’s website.
The City is commencing the implementation of it’s CHRMAP’s Short Term Action Plan, with actions including a Coastal Protection Structure Audit co-funded by a Coastal Adaptation Protection grant, storm impact monitoring, beach profile monitoring with drones and coastal management training for staff soon to commence.
