CoastWA Grants open for applications!

Community organisations and coastal land managers can apply for a share of $3.6 million in grants for projects that plan and manage the State’s coastline.  CoastWA grants support coastal land managers such as local governments, to undertake strategic planning; implement sustainable adaptation options; and partner with community groups to undertake on-ground management activities.

 Available funding includes:

  • up to $60,000 per proposal under Coastwest for local governments and community organisations to enhance amenity and manage human impacts in heavily visited coastal areas
  • up to $200,000 per proposal under the Coastal Management Plan Assistance Program (CMPAP), supporting coastal managers in preparing strategies and management plans, and implementing adopted CHRMAPs
  • up to $400,000 per proposal under the Coastal Adaptation and Protection program (CAP), for projects that preserve or enhance coastal assets for the community, and support adaptation to coastal hazards
  • up to $1.66 million under the Hotspot Coastal Adaptation and Protection (H-CAP), to design and implement works on major projects at coastal erosion hotspots.

CoastWA is a joint initiative between the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Department of Transport.

Applications close at midday on 17 April 2024.
